WhatsApp adds a guest option for joining calls without an account
Executive Brief
The 30-second read
WhatsApp is launching a guest access feature that allows participants to join encrypted voice and video calls without maintaining an account. This update reduces friction for external stakeholder communication and will be followed by enterprise calendar integrations later this year.
- 01External partners can join calls via secure links without creating a platform profile
- 02Streamlined guest access positions the app as a viable competitor for formal business meetings
- 03Forthcoming calendar integrations will enable professional scheduling directly within established executive workflows
